Windows Live Messenger will die on March 15

Microsoft confirmed the death of its instant messaging software Windows Live Messenger (WLM) on March 15 and the migration of all its profiles to Skype.

Since the Redmond company has acquired Skype, the rapprochement between the two solutions is more visible. Thus, users who wish to continue WLM now communicate with their usual contacts are invited to download the latest version of Skype (6.0) and connect it with their ID Microsoft.

In the future, should allow Skype users to communicate with instant messaging on all platforms Microsoft, WLM

MSN Messenger, now Windows Live Messenger thereafter, was originally launched in 1999.

Exception to the rule, China is the only country where WLM will remain available.
