To interact with friends and business partners must not always happen via phone and e-mail. The so-called instant messengers have become more important and are very popular when it comes to communication. Today I would like to present to you two open source instant messenger.


This is a multi-protocol instant messaging client that supports, among other things, the logs ICQ, AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Jabber, IRC, Gadu-Gadu, and parts of Netsend. To put it more simply: Miranda is a messenger that supports multiple messenger services, according to the motto: one for all.

Adium is a multi-protocol instant messaging client that runs on Mac OS X. Also this Messenger supports many different protocols, such as AIM, MSN, Jabber, Yahoo and ICQ. Also, Skype, MySpace or MeBeam can be integrated into Adium via plugins.
